Malkin a été élu rookie du mois d'Octobre, il a rendu une fiche de 7 buts et 4 assists.
A noter également un changement au niveau des lignes offensives pour le match face aux sharks, Ouellet monte au coté de Crosby et Malkin, et Armstrong rejoint la 3eme.
